Meet the team of Temple Valley Dental Group

The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our team's training, professional credentials and work experience.

David L. Brown, D.D.S.

Dr. Brown opened the Temple Valley Dental Group in May of 1975. He is originally from Lansing, Michigan, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Zoology in 1968 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1972. He married his wife, Karin, a month later and moved to Hawaii. His father had been stationed here during the war and returned frequently, and Dr. Brown's passion has always been sailing. In his first year here, he worked at Palama Settlement at the Strong Carter Dental Clinic, which gave him considerable experience working with Hawaii's children. He then associated for 2 years in Kailua and Laie before opening his present office.

His wife is a special education teacher, and an accomplished singer and pianist with a music degree from the University of Hawaii and an English degree from Michigan State University. She had previously performed for the Hawaii Opera Theater and the Makai Blues Band. Their son, Ryan, graduated from Punahou in 1994, and Arizona State University in Industrial design. He is managing a fine dining restaurant in Tempe, Arizona, and got married in 2006.

Sailing has remained Dr. Brown's passion, and he does considerable local racing and cruising. He sailed his present boat, Ho'onanea, from San Francisco in 1988 in the Pacific Cup Race. In 1991, his family accompanied him on a four month trip to the South Pacific with stops at Palmyra, Fanning Island, and the islands of Tahiti, Tuomotus and Marquesas. He has become more active in performing magic which has been a long time interest, and performs at corporate and party events.

His specific interests in dentistry are in providing comprehensive care and restoring beautiful smiles. He has taken many courses in restorative, TMJ, and implant cases. Dr. Brown feels lucky to have maintained long term staff members who all share the desire to provide quality dental care in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. He was listed in the Honolulu Magazine "Best Dentists" in Hawaii in 2007, 2009 and 2010.

Jason I. Revestir, D.D.S.

Dr. Revestir was born and raised in Kaneohe and graduated from Iolani School.  As a boy growing up in Kaneohe, he hiked all over the Ko'olaus with the Boy Scouts and eventually made the rank of Eagle Scout in 1992.  He attended the University of Hawaii where he majored in French and History.  After taking a year off from school, he attended the University of the Pacific Dental School and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001.  Dr. Revestir then served in the U.S. Army for three years, being stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.  During his Army career, he deployed to Iraq for six months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

After separating from active duty, Dr. Revestir and his wife Deidre married in 2005 after moving back to Hawaii.  Deidre is a registered veterinary technician at an animal hospital in Honolulu who enjoys treating animals.  In 2007 they welcomed their son Evan into the world who continues to be a boundless source of happiness for them.

Dr. Revestir became a partner of Temple Valley Dental Group in 2008 after deciding that he wanted to serve the community that he grew up in.

He takes great pride in his work and places a great amount of detail into his dental treatment.  He enjoys performing all sorts of dental procedures from cosmetic to root canal procedures.  He has broadened his dental knowledge through hundreds of hours of continuing education since dental school.  Currently he is pursuing educational courses in sleep medicine to treat snoring and sleep apnea.  One of his dental achievements includes being named as one of Honolulu Magazine's Top Dentists in 2009 and 2010.  Dr. Revestir currently serves as a delegate in the House of Delegates of the Hawaii Dental Association.

With a 10 year career in the Army, Dr. Revestir is proud of his military duty.  He has received several military commendations including two Army Achievement Medals. He is currently serving in the Hawaii Army National Guard as a State Dental Officer at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.  

Dr. James P. Errico

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Errico has been in Hawaii since 2006 where he was stationed at Pearl Harbor while in the Navy.  He received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers and later his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University in 2002.  He has done considerable post graduate training in general dentistry, to include CEREC crowns (single visit crowns) and implantology. In his free time Dr.Errico enjoys surfing, snorkeling, hiking and snowboarding.  He is a caring and conscientious dentist and will be a great addition to Temple Valley Dental Group.  

Glenn C. Briggs, D.D.S.

Dr. Briggs has finally retired and is enjoying working on projects around his house.

Cheryl Catobus, Business Manager

Cheryl has been with the Temple Valley Dental Group since early 1980, when she started as the receptionist.  She was raised here in Hawaii, and went to Kailua High School.  Along with her husband, Bud, she has lived in Kaneohe for many years.  The rest of her family consists of two Alaskan Malamutes, "Bear" and "Storm". Cheryl is an avid animal lover and supports the organizations Wolf Haven and Defenders of the Wild Life.  Her particular concern is the reestablishment of the wolf population into their original habitat.  Aside from the dogs, she keeps busy with working in the rose garden.  Frequently, she brings the roses to the office for everyone to enjoy.  She has also found a love of golf, and plays rain or shine.

Her twenty plus years in the office has given her considerable experience in handling all kinds of insurance claims, as well as other areas of office management she oversees.  She is great at remaining calm during busy times, and her warm personality and pleasant smile are some of Temple Valley Dental Group's greatest assets.

Luvel Correa, Scheduling Coordinator

Luvel was born in Honolulu, raised in Palolo, and graduated from Kaimuki High School. She has been working in dentistry since 1995, starting out as an orthodontic assistant. In 2000, she joined the team at the Temple Valley Dental group as a chair side dental assistant to Dr. Briggs. She is now our scheduling coordinator at the front desk who looks forward to booking your appointments!

Her son Hunter was born in 2005 and Ezekiel in 2010. She likes to spend time with her family, and go to family gatherings and the beach.

Lisa Kaluhiwa, Scheduling Assistant

Lisa was born and raised in Kaneohe, is a graduate of Castle High School, and has no intentions of ever moving away!  She is married and has 3 sons.  Besides working here at Temple Valley Dental Group, Lisa is also a flight attendant for United Airlines.  She has been with United for over 20 years.  When not driving her children around to events, Lisa enjoys paddling with her crew at Keahiakahoe Canoe Club.
As a paddler, Lisa's crossed the Moloka'i channel 8 times in the Na Wahine O Ke Kai race and has also competed twice in the Hawa'iki Nui canoe race in Tahiti.  Lisa also enjoys being a part of Hope Chapel Kaneohe.

Darian Yokooji, R.D.H., Dental Hygienist

Darian was born and raised in Kailua, and graduated from the University of Hawaii Dental Hygiene Program in 1997. He started working at Temple Valley Dental Group in 2002, taking over as the head of the hygiene department in 2004.

He enjoys fishing, diving and wood crafting. In 2004, he bought and re-built his first home in Kaneohe.

Jodi Yoshikawa, R.D.H., Dental Hygienist

Jodi was raised on Maui and graduated from Baldwin High School. She moved to Oahu in 1993 and completed the University of Hawaii Dental Hygiene Program.

She enjoys reading, shopping, hiking and travel. In 2005, she married a local guy from Kaneohe, and in 2007, gave birth to a baby girl.

Marilyn Reis, Dental Assistant

Marilyn is a Kailua girl and always will be.  She has been married to the same man for more than thirty years, and has a daughter who was born in 1989.  In her younger years, she used to be an avid runner, with many marathons under her belt.  These days she is an avid swimmer.  Sailing and taking trips on cruise ships to see the world are some of the things she enjoys most.

She has been President of the Honolulu County Dental Assistants' Society, and a delegate to the national association twice.  Of her more than thirty-three years as a dental assistant, she has been Dr. Brown's assistant since 1975.  Both she and Dr. Brown are planning to retire together.

Jaime Starkey, Dental Assistant

Jaime has been a dental assistant for four years and joined Temple Valley Dental Group in 2012.  She's a fan of fitness, and spends her time with her two sons and daughter, watching them play soccer, football, and basketball. 

Maria Float, Dental Assistant

Maria hails originally from Colorado, before moving to Hawaii with her family.  After learning some dental assisting while in the U.S. Navy, she finally became a full fledged assistant last year when she joined our team last year.  She enjoys spending time with her children.
